Lewis Pugh completes his Adriatic Swim
Renowned endurance swimmer and United Nation’s Environment Programme (UNEP)’s Patron of the Oceans, Lewis Pugh completed his second swim his Seven Swims in the Seven Seas for 1 Reason campaign.
Lewis completed his long distance swim yesterday along the cliffs of Dugi Otok near Zadar, Croatia. He was tired but happy to finish the swim, which in his words was “Perfect, but took longer than expected”.
Earlier today, Lewis also swam a short distance in Zadar, from the statue of Spiridion Brusina to the famous Sea Organs. Many young swimmers and athletes decided to join him at that short distance, making it a great social event.
Immediately after finishing the short swim, Lewis also met with the local authorities and gave a small interview in which he once again highlighted the need for, and importance, of Marine Protected Areas.
