Yacht IN is proud to announce the latest addition to its ever-growing charter fleet, the 77' (23m) sailing performance catamaran, SKIMMER.
SKIMMER is a 77 foot (23m) racing catamaran that truly breaks the mold. The only performance catamaran in all of Croatia and the 2017 winner of the prestigious Cape Town to Rio race, this exceptional charter yacht combines the intense joy of sailing with all the superyacht luxuries, from an alfresco cinema to a five-cabin layout. With an interior that’s pure class and a sailing pedigree that is pure sport, SKIMMER is the best of both worlds.
Engineered for outstanding sailing performance yet designed with all the luxuries in mind, this international race-winning yacht is the only performance catamaran available in Croatia. SKIMMER the ideal charter yacht for families and friends looking for an Adriatic sailing holiday that combines the sport of sailing with pure superyacht indulgence.
From its open-air cinema to its fabulous flybridge and five-cabin layout, SKIMMER packs in an enormous amount of features for a yacht in her size range. The catamaran’s wide twin-hull design allows for a huge aft deck dining area, which flows seamlessly into a stylish open-plan saloon and high-spec chef’s galley, furnished in natural wood tones and flooded with light from the panoramic windows.
Yet another entertaining space is found up on the shaded flybridge, while happy afternoons can be spent lazing about on the ‘trampolines’ stretched between the twin hulls at the bow, feeling the breeze rise up from the cool turquoise water beneath, or lying under the stars, bathed in the blue glow of the yacht’s underwater lights. The yacht’s swim platform is the place to launch the yacht’s Seabob or kayaks, cast a fishing line, or take off behind the tender on one of the inflatables. All the creature comforts have been catered for onboard SKIMMER, with air-conditioning, Wi-Fi, and a book library.
Where this yacht truly differs though, is in its sailing performance. While catamarans have always been attractive for their enviable stability at anchor and generous interior volumes, they are not generally known for their sailing capability. SKIMMER is different. Built in 2016 to transoceanic standards, she was designed with a high rig, oversize sail area and a deep rudder and keel, and took off across the harsh South Atlantic Ocean in the epic Cape Town to Rio Race in 2017, winning first place in her class. What better yacht to sail the winds of the Adriatic –tacking and jibing through the emerald islands of Croatia, and dropping anchor off walled Venetian towns and palm-lined boulevards?
SKIMMER is best suited for eight guests but can accommodate 10 guests in five cabins. Four of the five cabins have an ensuite, while the fifth has its own dedicated bathroom located just outside. All guest accommodations are beautifully appointed, featuring fine linens and either king or queen-sized beds.
SKIMMER is a luxury yacht, to be sure, but she is born to sail. She is an ideal charter prospect for people who want to enjoy the pure sport and adrenaline of sailing– whether that’s a group of friends who are keen sailors or a family of beginners wanting to get their kids into sailing in a safe yet thrilling way.
With an interior that’s pure class and a sailing design that is pure sport, SKIMMER is the best of both worlds.
S/Y SKIMMER will be available for charter in Croatia and Montenegro from July 2021, starting from either her base port of Marina Kastela (near Split) or any Adriatic port.
